Cook
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the Cook is responsible for the preparation of nutritious meals according to a standardized menu with attention to taste, presentation, and timely delivery. The Cook actively contributes to a positive dining experience for our residents with attention to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the preparation of meals and snacks (breakfast, dinner, and supper) according to standardized recipes and health and safety standards.
- Monitors food services operations to ensure procedures are followed.
- Communicates instructions for meal preparation and special meal requests to kitchen personnel.
- Places food in equipment with the appropriate utensils (spoon, spatula, knife, etc.) for presentation.
- Serves meals according to foods requested, respecting special dietary needs, portions, and presentation standards. Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
- Assists with placing orders for food and supplies, according to menus and event schedule.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment. Cleans equipment with appropriate products, washing all utensils according to established procedures.
- Maintains a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensures all food and other items are stored properly.
- Is on-call occasionally to manage the schedule after regular kitchen hours.
- Acts as a role model for the team respectfully guiding and assisting, using the coaching method.
- Trains new assistant cooks and kitchen helpers, overseeing their acclimation to the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Post-secondary diploma, with specialization in institutional cooking an asset.
- Minimum experience of one year in food services.
- Diploma from a culinary school preferred.
- MAPAQ certification (an asset).
Knowledge & Skills and Abilities
- Good knowledge of English and working knowledge of French (spoken and written).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in teams providing coaching and clear instructions.

The Certified Caregiver supports and accompanies residents in their activities of daily living (ADL) to maintain or restore the autonomy of the individual. As a member of the Care team, the Certified Caregiver contributes to the provision of a high-quality living environment for residents that is both secure and adapted to their needs.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents in their personal and hygiene care.
- Gives basic care in the activities of daily living, respecting their capacities and potential.
- Participates in the admission and integration of residents to the residence.

Registered Nurse Ongoing Applications
The Registered Nurse proactively ensures the effective delivery of client centered services to residents, while seeking opportunities to continually improve and enrich the quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Provides holistic, compassionate nursing care to residents in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
- Assesses resident care needs and initiates the development of an appropriate care plan.
- Communicates any change in status of resident with physician; responds to and processes corresponding medical directives given by physician.

Responsibilities
- Greets residents and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Assembles food servings on plates and prepares trays according to instructions.
- Serves meals according to foods requested and to portion and presentation standards.
- Loads labelled trays with accessories such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments.
- Removes dishes in a quiet and orderly fashion for return to kitchenette after meals are finished.
- Clears, cleans, and resets tables in a professional system, using proper disinfecting procedures.
- Washes dishes, utensils and serving containers, etc. in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensures that the kitchenettes and dining areas are well-maintained and cleaned.
- Stocks kitchenettes according to established inventory.
- Uses appropriate utensils (spoons, spatulas, knives, etc.) for preparation, service, and presentation.

- Sorts and removes garbage and recycling on a regular basis and places in the designated area.
